We have an immediate opening for the position of a part-time Weekend Sports Reporter

CHCH News is a multiplatform organization serving the dynamic and rapidly growing regions of Hamilton,
Halton, Niagara, and Brant. We genuinely care about our community and about working in an environment

The successful candidate will:
° Gather, write and present accurate and engaging sports news stories for broadcast and digital
° Edit and voice highlight packages
° Anchor the sportscast and interact with other anchors in a live environment
° Generate enterprise story ideas, always with a focus on local
° Report live on camera from the studio and in the field
° Work a minimum of two shifts per week, on Saturdays and Sundays
° Conduct research
° Develop and maintain contacts
° Be willing to act as a news reporter, when needed
° Perform other duties as required


The ideal candidate must:
° Submit a demo reel exhibiting excellence in journalism and presentation skills
° Possess a broadcast diploma or equivalent
° Possess at least one year of sports reporting experience in broadcast and digital platforms
° Possess an in-depth knowledge of local athletics and major league sports
° Ideally possess local sports contacts
° Experience in general news reporting would be an asset
° Be comfortable with social media and multimedia reporting
° Demonstrate strong spelling and grammar skills
° Be prepared to work various shifts, including some weekdays as required
° Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
° Have a working knowledge of ENPS, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar production systems
° Have familiarity with the current events, newsmakers, teams and athletes of Hamilton, Halton, Niagara and Brant
